The foundation has been appropriately named Hadiya’s Foundation because it’s been developed in her vision. Hadiya Zaymara Pendleton, 15 years old, was gunned down in Chicago on January 29, 2013 while in the park with classmates after completing her final exams. What’s wrong with going to the park after school? Nothing. It’s that reality that prompted Cleopatra and Nathaniel Pendleton, Hadiya’s parents, to do something. Hadiya’s Foundation will work to bring back the “it takes a village” concept by partnering with police, schools and after school programs. Join us in our continued effort to create positive change and opportunity for all children.
